As you may know, this 200cc bike is a flagship offering in the Pulsar series. It is also the only offering to boast a fully-faired body style. The indigenous manufacturer has been marketing this offering as the fastest Pulsar. There is, however, a long list of Bajaj bikes that can be had from different segments.
Further, the Pulsar RS 200 is also the flagship model in the Bajaj’s Pulsar series. Considering its size, it is also known as a compact sports bike.
All-in-all, the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 is a feature-loaded sporty-looking bike in the 200cc segment that goes up against the KTM RC 200, Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, and the Yamaha FZ25, to name a few.

Specifications

Before jumping straight to the figures, let’s talk about the chassis that this bike has been structured on. The indigenous two-wheeler manufacturer incorporated a pressed steel perimeter beam section frame to develop the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200. It is robust and agile in nature. According to the manufacturer, this bike has a kerb weight of 166kg.
As far as the figures go, the above-mentioned chassis supports a 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which is tuned to churn out 24.1 bhp at 9750 rpm and 18.7 Nm of peak torque at 8000 rpm. Moreover, this engine is mated to a standard six-speed manual transmission.

Mileage

As far as fuel economy is concerned, the Bajaj Pulsar has a decent mileage, as it has a real-world mileage of 35 km/l. Please note that this real-world mileage figure is based on the feedback given by the owners. However, it is also worth mentioning that mileage can vary with the engine and transmission combination, the local traffic conditions and individuals’ riding styles.

Keeping the engine output of this Bajaj bikes aside, let’s now jump to the suspension setup offered. The Chakan-based manufacturer has offered a telescopic fork suspension with an anti-friction brush at the front and a Nitrox-filled (Nitrogen) monoshock absorber with Canister suspension at the rear. With this setup, the Pulsar RS200 shouldn’t let you complain about the ride quality that it will offer. In addition, it might also feel quite stiff as it is engineered with a performance approach as well. Overall, it should glide through the undulations and bumps from potholes with ease. For added comfort, this bike also boasts a slightly upright riding position, which can translate to a comfortable riding position, making it suitable for long journeys.

At the same time, the braking duties are taken care of by dual disc brakes. The size of the front disc brake is rated at 300mm, while the size of the rear disc brake is rated at 230mm. For your reference, the dual disc brakes offer a superior braking performance than the conventional disc- and drum-drum brakes.
Further, the disc brakes offered on this bike can be seen through its 17-inch alloy wheels. The front end has a tyre profile of 100/80 R17, while the rear end has a tyre profile of 130/70 R17.

Features

This bike is offered in one variant only, the standard (STD). It has a semi-digital instrument cluster with the tachometer being analogue, while the rest is digital. The digital readings include fuel level, tripmeter, odometer, speedometer, and clock. Apart from that, this bike is equipped with a low fuel indicator, low oil indicator and a low battery indicator.
Apart from that, it has automatic headlights, LED DRLs, a projector headlight, LED brake plus tail lights, and LED indicator lights. Other prominent features comprise a pass light, an electric start-type, a gear shift light, and a killswitch.
It also has a split grab rail, a pillion seat with a grabrail and footrests.
The Pulsar RS 200, however, misses out on features, such as mobile app connectivity, under-seat storage, a front storage box, and GPS and navigation. But after owning this bike, you may not feel the absence of these features, as this bike offers good performance and an ample number of features.

The OBD-2-compliant Pulsar RS 200 is available in a standard variant only. In addition, it can be chosen from three available colour schemes: Metallic Pearl White, Burnt Red and Pewter Grey.
